Park Shore's Holiday Season Lights Up Two Days Before Downtown's

October 22, 2026

The first tree lighting of the 2026 Naples season takes place at the north end of Park Shore. Grand Illuminations at The Village Shops on Venetian Bay is Saturday, November 21. Third Street South lights its tree two days later, and Fifth Avenue South waits until December 4. For anyone living between Gulf Shore Boulevard North and Park Shore Drive, that order shapes the whole season. Most of November happens close to home. The events worth a drive downtown fall mostly in the three weeks from December 3 to December 20, and the busiest day of all is December 19.

The Village Goes First, On A Saturday Afternoon

Grand Illuminations runs from 3 to 7 p.m. on November 21. It includes free photos with Santa, Dickens Carolers, character appearances, and what The Village calls Naples' tallest Christmas tree, lit with more than 100,000 lights. A snow show starts at 6 p.m. Downtown's openers fall on weeknights or come later in the season:

Tree lighting Date Hours The 2026 details
Grand Illuminations, The Village Shops on Venetian Bay Saturday, November 21 3–7 p.m. Snow show at 6 p.m., Santa photos, carolers
Third Street South holiday kickoff Monday, November 23 6–9 p.m. Third Street South closed to traffic
Fifth Avenue South Christmas Walk Friday, December 4 5–10 p.m. Tree lighting around 6 p.m.; the walk continues Saturday, December 5, 10 a.m.–10 p.m.

Because The Village's lighting starts on a Saturday afternoon, it is the one opener a household can plan around dinner instead of a workday commute. The Village's October dining feature lists six waterfront restaurants on the bay: Bayside Seafood Grill & Bar, Fish Restaurant, M Waterfront Grille, MiraMare Ristorante, T-Michaels Steak & Lobster House, and The Village Pub. None of them is new. M Waterfront Grille opened under that name on October 14, 2008, after a six-month renovation. T-Michaels replaced Cloyde's Steak & Lobster House in 2013, and the Naples Daily News reported at the time that Cloyde's had been at the location for 25 years. On a night when the whole center is lit, that familiar lineup is a big part of the appeal.

Thanksgiving Week Stays On The Bay

Thanksgiving week keeps Park Shore busy close to home. The Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving Day 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. on November 26 at The Village, 4200 Gulf Shore Boulevard North, and proceeds support St. Matthew's House. Registration through Run Elite Events costs $67 from November 1 to 25 and $69 on race day, so signing up early saves $2. The next morning, Black Friday Stroll & Shop opens a three-day run. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, November 27 and 28, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 29.

Third Street South fills the same week with programming from Tuesday through Saturday: live music from 5 to 8 p.m., snowfall at 7 p.m., and shops open until 7 p.m. There is nothing scheduled on Thanksgiving Day itself. So the morning race on Venetian Bay doesn't overlap with anything downtown.

Johnsonville Night Lights at Naples Botanical Garden opens the day after Thanksgiving and runs from November 27 through January 3, 2027, 6 to 10 p.m. It is closed December 24, 25 and 31. The Garden's event page lists nonmember prices of $36 to $42 for adults and $18 to $20 for children. Members pay $18 to $21 and $9 to $10, roughly half. For a household planning more than one visit, or hosting guests over the holidays, that gap adds up fast.

The Water Shuttle Returns, With No Stop At The Village

The Naples Bay Water Shuttle is on its off-season break and returns Thanksgiving weekend 2026. The Blue Pelican runs a hop-on, hop-off loop for $20 a person for the whole day. It operates from noon to 8 p.m., with hours varying by season, and comes around about once an hour. Its route makes eight landings:

  1. Naples City Dock
  2. Syren Oyster Bar
  3. Naples Bay Resort
  4. Hyatt House
  5. Bayfront
  6. Naples Sailing & Yacht Club
  7. The Boathouse on Naples Bay
  8. Crayton Cove Dock

The route stays on Naples Bay, and Venetian Bay is not on it. From Park Shore, using the shuttle means driving south and parking once. That matters most in December, when downtown events pile up and the shuttle's 8 p.m. finish comes before many of them end.

December Compresses Into Three Weeks

From December 3 to December 20, the downtown, Artis—Naples and Venetian Bay calendars overlap almost every few days. In date order, with The Village's own events included:

  1. Thursday, December 3. Handel's Messiah with the Naples Philharmonic and Chorus, 7:30 p.m., Hayes Hall at Artis—Naples. Tickets start at $29.
  2. Friday and Saturday, December 4–5. The Fifth Avenue South Christmas Walk, with the tree lighting around 6 p.m. Friday.
  3. Saturday and Sunday, December 5–6. Naples Ballet's The Nutcracker with the Naples Philharmonic, 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Hayes Hall.
  4. Tuesday, December 8. The City of Naples Christmas Parade, 6:30 to 8 p.m. It starts at 3rd Street South and 9th Avenue South, runs along 5th Avenue South, and ends at 8th Street South by City Hall.
  5. Thursday, December 10. Santa Paws at The Village, 4 to 7 p.m., with free pet photos. That evening, Jodie DeSalvo's "Home for the Holidays" starts at 7 p.m. in Daniels Pavilion.
  6. Saturday, December 12. Holiday on the Bay at The Village, 3 to 7 p.m., with Santa, carolers, lights and a 6 p.m. snow show.
  7. Thursday through Sunday, December 17–20. Artis—Naples Holiday Pops with the Naples Philharmonic, in Hayes Hall. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. on December 17 and 18, 2 and 7:30 p.m. on December 19, and 2 p.m. on December 20.

On December 10, Santa Paws ends at 7 p.m. on Venetian Bay just as the DeSalvo program begins at Artis—Naples, so doing both means leaving The Village early. On December 12, The Village gets its own Saturday, a week after the Fifth Avenue walk. Artis—Naples also opens the season early with A Magical Cirque Christmas on November 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Hayes Hall, four days before Grand Illuminations.

December 19 Is The Doubleheader

The busiest day of the season is Saturday, December 19. The Holiday Pops matinee starts at 2 p.m. in Hayes Hall. That evening, the Marine Industries Association of Collier County runs the Christmas Boat Parade on Naples Bay from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. The 7:30 p.m. Pops show overlaps the parade, which makes the matinee the one that fits both.

Naples City Dock hosts the parade, its judges and VIP guests, and viewing there is ticketed. MIACC also lists Pinchers Tin City, Riverwalk Restaurant, Naples Landing, Kelly's Fish House, The Boathouse on Naples Bay and Bayview Park as places to watch. The Boathouse on Naples Bay is also a water shuttle landing, so a dinner reservation there can double as a parade seat. Bayview Park is on the list too for anyone who would rather stand by the water than book a table.

Where The Calendar Thins Out

The dated calendar ends early. The Village's published events run from November 21 through December 12. The City of Naples' most recent fireworks notice covered a free show on January 3, 2026, watched from along the city shoreline. The 2026 New Year's Eve plans have not been posted on that page yet. Night Lights at the Garden stays open into early January, closing December 31 and reopening through January 3, 2027. That makes it one of the few dated events on this list that goes past Christmas.
