This Season, Naples' Big Nights Are Coming To Royal Harbor's Side Of The Bay

October 29, 2026

"I've been to a lot of ribbon cuttings, but none as well attended as this." Trinity Scott, who heads Collier County Transportation Management Services, said that in February at the opening of the Bayshore-Sugden connector, according to Gulfshore Business. About 100 bikers, walkers and runners came to see a walkway open.

From now through February, the dates on the Naples winter calendar fall more and more on Bayshore Drive, east of Naples Bay, the same side of the water as Royal Harbor. The season peaks on Saturday, February 6, 2027. That day the car show long known for taking over Fifth Avenue South sets up on Bayshore instead.

The Corridor Got Its Missing Link First

The boardwalk deserves some attention because it changes how the rest of the season works. The connector opened February 26, 2026. It starts as a 400-foot brick promenade off Bayshore Drive, then runs 1,350 feet of boardwalk over wetlands and a lake to Sugden Park's Lake Avalon path, near the park's west loop parking area. The walkway is 15 feet wide, with metal benches and an observation deck over the lake. Naples Botanical Garden supplied plants and young trees for the landscaping.

County Commissioner Dan Kowal described the old trip between the Bayshore neighborhoods and Sugden Park as roughly two miles, down Bayshore to Thomasson Drive and along Thomasson. The new route is just over half a mile, and it stays off the road.

Sugden Park is now a short walk from Bayshore Drive, and this winter that matters more than it used to. As of the February opening, the county also expected to offer two county-owned parcels on either side of the project for sale, about 1.5 acres and nearly 4 acres. Opera Naples had expressed interest in the larger parcel for an opera house, with bidding open to all parties.

Celebration Park Is Back, And It Has A Dock

Celebration Park at 2880 Becca Ave. closed for all of September and reopened Thursday, October 1. The Naples Daily News described the refresh as a revamped waterfront bar program, expanded entertainment and new food-truck dining.

If you live on the water, the detail that matters most is on the venue's own site. Celebration Park has dock access on Haldeman Creek at Marker 24, so a dinner out can start at your own dock. On land, it's open Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 10 p.m., and closed Mondays. Hours can change on holidays and event nights.

The first holiday date on Bayshore belongs to Celebration Park. Its Holiday Tree Lighting is Thursday, December 3, from 5 to 9 p.m., with live music.

First Friday Moved To Saturday Morning

The Bayshore Arts District's monthly gathering has changed both its day and its hour. According to the Bayshore CRA, the First Friday event now runs on Saturday mornings at TWiST Gallery, 3570 Bayshore Dr. #103, with local vendors, live music and art. The CRA's own suggestion is to get a coffee first at Bean to Cup next door. Every remaining date this season runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  1. Saturday, November 14, 2026
  2. Saturday, December 12, 2026
  3. Saturday, January 9, 2027
  4. Saturday, February 13, 2027

Because it's a morning event, Bayshore now has something on the calendar in daylight, which is when Sugden Park and the new boardwalk get the most use. The February 13 date also falls one week after the car show leaves the same street.

The Garden's Long Run Starts November 27

Naples Botanical Garden sits at the south end of the corridor, and it has the longest event of the season. Johnsonville Night Lights in the Garden runs from November 27, 2026, through January 3, 2027. It's dark on December 24, 25 and 31.

The Garden splits the run into two pricing periods, and the later one costs more:

Window Posted hours Member adult / child (4–17) Non-member adult
Nov. 27 – Dec. 17 Sun–Thu 6–9 p.m.; Fri–Sat 6–10 p.m. $18 / $9 $36
Dec. 18 – Jan. 3 Posted as Sunday–Monday, 6–10 p.m. $21 / $10 $42

Weeknight visits in the first window are the least expensive way to go, since they cost less than the holiday stretch. Non-member tickets went on sale November 2.

The Johnsonville Night Lights Sunset Tram Tour is new this year. A group gets the Garden's tram to itself for the evening, and the Garden takes one reservation per night. Pricing is $750 for members and $900 for non-members. Reservations can be made through Visitor Services at 239.325.1354. With one group a night across a five-week run, this is the ticket to book first if you're hosting family over the holidays.

There's also something to see in daylight. Ánima Botánica by Pseudomero is on view in the Fogg Café from October 1, 2026, through July 9, 2028. It uses enlarged images of air plants, orchids and small wildlife to show how they depend on one another.

February 6: The Car Show Crosses The Bay

The dates above all belong to venues already on Bayshore. The February date is new.

The Naples Automotive Experience runs February 4 through 7, 2027. The Cars on 5th Concours, which the organizer calls the event's crown jewel, is Saturday, February 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Bayshore Drive. The organizer's site says more than 750 rare, exotic and classic cars will line the street, and that proceeds benefit the Patty Baker Humane Society of Naples. The rest of the weekend is spread around the county:

  • Thursday, Feb. 4, 6 p.m.: Jay Leno Charity Comedy Night at Hertz Arena
  • Friday, Feb. 5, 5–10 p.m.: The Jetport Reception at Northern Jet Hangar
  • Saturday, Feb. 6, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.: The Concours on Bayshore Drive
  • Sunday, Feb. 7, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.: Rally for Heroes

Some earlier coverage gave different dates. The Naples Daily News reported in August that the event would run February 4 through 6, and the organizer now lists four days. The organizer also says tickets are "limited this year to improve the experience," and general admission is sold separately from car registration.

The move followed the City of Naples' review of the 2027 application. According to the city's statement, City Council did not approve the application as submitted on June 17. The council raised concerns about expanded street-closure hours, more street and sidewalk closures, a pedestrian access fee, and the use of Cambier Park. Staff then offered a smaller layout on Fifth Avenue South from 3rd to 8th streets. On July 16, the city learned the organizer would relocate. The City Clerk's voting record shows a motion to approve the application as presented failed 1–5. A second motion, to seek a new application with a substantially reduced scope, passed 5–1.

How the day is set up to move

On February 6, this past year's boardwalk work and this winter's parking plan meet. The organizer's parking page lists four free park-and-ride lots: the County Office Complex, the National Pickleball Center, Sugden Park and the AC Hotel. Shuttles run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Buses from the County Office Complex and the AC Hotel drop riders at Weeks and Bayshore. Buses from the National Pickleball Center and Sugden Park go to Del's Corner.

Sugden Park is on that list, and since February it has had a half-mile off-road path to Bayshore Drive. The organizer hasn't published the exact length of street the show will use, so check the official schedule closer to the date before planning a route around it. Earlier planning coverage in Naples Press described putting cars only in Bayshore's northbound lanes and keeping the southbound lanes open for local and emergency traffic. That plan depended on approval.
